After so much chatter about star kids making their big debuts in Zoya Akhtar’s live-action musical The Archies, the OTT film is inching closer to its release. With less than a month to go before it drops on Netflix, the much-anticipated trailer of The Archies is finally out.

The film follows the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton. The Archies also marks the acting debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda and Sridevi - Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor. Apart from them, the cast includes Mihir Ahuja, Dot., Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda.
These teenagers are all about fun, music, lunches, pool parties and style but soon there comes a twist which ensures that they band together to save their community and heritage of the town. They want to bring about a change despite being change.
Going by the looks of it, it feels like an interesting take on the classic Riverdale tale and considering how it has been helmed by Zoya Akhtar, it will most definitely be an interesting watch.
It is a heartfelt coming-of-age film set in the backdrop of the 1960s. The Archies draws viewers into the lives of a beloved group of teenagers. The official synopsis reads,
"An experience bursting with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves, and everything young adult. Set in the 1960s, based on Archie Comics that finds Indian actors taking on the beloved characters. An experience bursting with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves, and everything young adult."
The film is in collaboration between Netflix India, Tiger Baby, Archie Comics, and Graphic India.
The highly anticipated film will exclusively release on Netflix worldwide on December 7, 2023.
