Job or no wedding: Engineer's hilarious honesty in job application goes viral

Imagine turning up for an interview and telling the hiring manager that if you don’t get the job, you won’t be able to marry your childhood love. No pressure on the hiring manager, right? Funnily enough, this actually happened to the Chief Executive Officer of Avra Health, Dipalie Bajaj.

Ms. Bajaj was hiring for the role of a full-stack engineer when she came across a job application that left everyone on the internet amused.

The anonymous applicant, when questioned about why he was qualified for the position, openly admitted that he needed a job in order to marry the girl of his dreams. He explained that the girl's father had insisted he get a job before they could tie the knot.

When asked, "Why are you fit for the role?", he responded, "I believe I bring a unique blend of Full stack that aligns well with the requirements of this role. Also, if I don't get this job I would never marry my childhood love because her father says you will only marry her if you have a job."

Ms. Bajaj shared a screenshot of the response on X (formerly Twitter), captioning it, "Hiring can be fun too."

The post quickly went viral, garnering 229.8K views and 4.7K likes. 

People appreciated his honesty. One person said, "Hire him for the honesty." Another questioned his status, asking, "Is he getting married or not?" 

Someone else remarked, "He makes a pretty compelling case."

Another person added, "In this day and age of CV fudging and keyword stuffing, this applicant is honest to the core. 10/10 on honesty."
