Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 3: Prabhas starrer sees a jump, steps into the weekend on a high note

Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 3: On June 27, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, was released in a number of languages. The movie did incredibly well at the box office in its first two days of release, and it continued to do well on day three. Kalki 2898 AD made a total of Rs 191.5 crore worldwide on its first day of release. 

Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 3 India

In India, the film earned Rs 95.3 crore on day 1. On day 2, it collected Rs  57.6 crore. Now on day 3, Kalki 2898 AD collected Rs 67.1 crore as per early estimates stated by indsutry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the total to Rs 220 Cr crore. 

As per Sacnilk, "Kalki 2898 AD had an overall 74.24% Telugu Occupancy on Saturday, June 29, 2024."

Kalki 2898 AD producer Swapna Dutt Chalasani's message for viewers

Before the film's crew released the first day's collections, producer Swapna Dutt Chalasani posted a message on X. Reacting subtly to remarks that Kalki 2898 AD is comparable to other popular Telugu movies, he wrote , “It’s very amazing that people are calling or asking, Did we cross records? It’s hilarious because guys who create or created these records never make films for the records. We make for the audience. We make for the love of cinema. We did the same.”

What is Kalki 2898 AD about?

The movie, which is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, centers on a small group of chosen individuals who are sent on a quest to save Kalki, the unborn child of SUM-80, a lab subject. Santhosh Narayanan handled the soundtrack for the movie, while Djordje Stojiljkovic did the cinematography and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao handled the editing. It is the most costly Indian film, with a production budget of ₹600 crore (US$72 million).
