Taking the Ishq Vishq franchise forward after two decades, the makers of the romantic comedy that marked Shahid Kapoor's debut in the film industry, have released another instalment called Ishq Vishk Rebound on June 21. The film starring newcomers Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Naila Grrewal, and Jibraan Khan couldn't spread its magic on the big screen. While an official announcement on the same is awaited, the latest reports suggest that Netflix has bought the rights to the film, and so, the movie will be streamed on the OTT platform after its theatrical runs.

It is expected that the movie will likely be available to stream online in August 2024. 

Rohit Saraf on film's poor performance  

When Rohit Saraf was asked about Ishq Vishk Robounds's poor box-office performance, he told News 18, "I feel like I had such high expectations from myself and it came to my performance in the film because all this while I had a dream that I wanted to be a mainstream hero and I wanted to do a mainstream film. I wanted to be on the big screen and I wanted to see myself dance and all of that and so I had like massive expectation for myself. And to meet up with an expectation, I could only do one thing — that was to work tremendously hard for it, which I did. I ensured that every single day, when I entered and before I left I ensured that my director and producers were happy with what I did."

Shahid sent best wishes to the team

Before the release of the film, Shahid Kapoor had shared the trailer of the film, "Hope this will be as special for you as it was for me 21 years back. Best of Luck."

Helmed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari, Ishq Vishk Rebound is a sequel to the 2003 cult coming-of-age film Ishq Vishk, which starred Shahid Kapoor in his debut along with Amrita Rao, Vishal Malhotra and Shenaz Treasurywala.
