Here's Why Isha Ambani Did Not Walk The Met Gala 2024 Red Carpet

Isha Ambani was all set with her Rahul Mishra attire for Met Gala 2024 in New York City. However, despite the anticipation, no visuals of her from the Met carpet were available. It was later revealed by her makeup artist that Isha couldn't make it to the carpet as she was unwell.

Isha Ambani's makeup artist shared an Instagram reel showcasing the businesswoman's look for the 2024 Met Gala. The video featured Isha posing in her outfit designed by Rahul Mishra, which included a long floral train.

The caption with the post revealed that Isha had got a raging fever on the day of the extravagant fashion event.

It read, “Happy for the memories we got in creating this for Isha @mamamagish, even though she was raging with a fever and couldn’t make it to the Met carpet. Well, at least we got some of these gorgeous pictures beforehand!”

Rahul Mishra explained, “It is well known that in the past decade, my experiences with nature have had a strong influence on my work. We have cultivated this look in the way a gardener would a garden. Motifs and embroidery swatches from our entire journey since 2013 were brought out to be reinterpreted and collated to form the surfaces on this gown. Just in the way some trees would take decades to flower and bear fruit while others may bloom within weeks, I feel that this look becomes a culmination of our entire body of work. Hence titled ‘River of Life’, it represents the philosophy of time acting as a medium that carries with itself constant change and evolution.”

“This garden is further inhabited by three dimensional birds, moths, butterflies, sea creatures and more through various kinds of appliqué techniques. It is a consolidation of many stories that continue to live and many that we are revealing for the first time. On a light shimmery base, the embellishments include intricate thread embroidery which is supplemented with materials such rhinestones, sequins, bugle beads, zari, kundan and more and explores various ancient Indian techniques of embroidery including fareesha, zardozi, nakshi, dabka and French knots among others.”

For the unversed, The Met Gala was held on May 6, 2024, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The theme for the event was "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," with the official dress code being "The Garden of Time."
