He also tried to destroy the Pandava lineage by using a powerful weapon, the Brahmastra, against the unborn child of Abhimanyu, but Krishna intervened and saved the child.

After the Kurukshetra War, Ashwathama used a forbidden weapon called the Brahmastra, causing great destruction. As a punishment, Lord Krishna took the Mani from his forehead, making him mortal and leaving a painful wound that would never heal.
