Capitalising on controversy: Coaching institute's ad for CLAT goes viral amid NEET results 2024 outrage, here's why

Following the recent release of the NEET exams, there's been a wave of controversy. However, the saga doesn't end there. A coaching company has seized upon this contentious issue, stepping into the fray. While some applaud this move, others express discontent with the exploitation of the situation for commercial gain.

Give CLAT, not NEET

A viral ad on social media, which criticises the NEET exam and advocates for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) instead, has been drawing attention recently.

The newspaper advertisement suggests that those disappointed with NEET results should consider CLAT for a five-year law program from NLUs.

Opinions on the ad varied widely. 

One remarked, "Dusre ki aapada me khud ke liye awasar talaash liya inhone."

Another quipped, "What else do you expect from would-be lawyers?"

Yet another commented, "Saari lawyers wali harkatein."

Another perspective was, "Capitalism is peaking. Last time a shaving blade company tried to capitalise from young topper's looks."

And another pointed out, "Is there any comparison? Both are totally different dimensions."

One person highlighted issues with CLAT 2024, mentioning ambiguous questions, sections below 7th-grade difficulty, rank inflation, poor management, all amidst a large number of aspirants.

What is the controversy regarding NEET 2024 results?

This year's NEET exam took place on May 5, with over 24 lakh students participating. 

Results were declared on June 4. 

However, concerns have arisen, prompting calls for a detailed investigation. 

The controversy stems from 67 students achieving perfect scores this year, several toppers hailing from the same exam center, and allegations of question paper leaks, as per reports by Deccan Herald.

NEET (UG), previously known as the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is an annual nationwide entrance exam. It serves as a gateway for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS), and AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc.) courses across government and private institutions in India.
