Heartwarming tale of a mother elephant's survival in Tamil Nadu forest will brighten your day

Dive into the inspiring story of a mother elephant's struggle for survival and eventual success. IAS officer Supriya Sahu tweeted photos and videos of the rescue and rehabilitation operation carried out by a devoted team from the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. IAS officer Supriya Sahu shared the rescue story, stating that the elephant was found unwell and lying on the ground, with her 3-month-old calf in severe condition.

The calf was confused and distressed as it wandered around her. When the crew discovered the mother elephant, they swiftly consulted experts and veterinarians to devise a rescue plan.

Later, they successfully hoisted the mother elephant using a crane and sustained her for three days while she was treated by veterinarians. During the therapy, the calf joined the herd and other elephants in the neighbouring forest, returning to the mother at night.

The continual care of the professionals helped the mother elephant restore her strength, and after a few days of intense therapy, she was ultimately released back into the wild.
