Watch: Miraculous rescue of baby elephant stuck in water canal, reunited with mama elephant

Elephants are known for their deep emotional bonds and strong family ties. As protective mothers, they go to great lengths to care for their young, ensuring their safety and well-being. So, imagine the plight of a mother elephant watching helplessly as her child is trapped in a water channel. Fortunately, humans stepped in to save the day, rescuing the baby elephant and reuniting it with its mother.

In the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve of Tamil Nadu, a heartwarming rescue recently took place. A baby elephant had become trapped in a water channel, while its distressed mother anxiously waited nearby.

Forest staff on patrol discovered the calf struggling to escape and quickly dispatched a rescue team to the scene. 

They worked diligently to free the baby elephant and successfully reunited it with its mother.

To ensure their well-being, a special team was assigned to monitor the pair, confirming that both mother and calf were safe and healthy. 

The story and videos of the rescue were shared by IAS Supriya Sahu, who is currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Environment Climate Change & Forests, Government of Tamil Nadu. Known for her dedication to environmental welfare and her Guinness World Record achievement, Sahu has always been a champion for nature.
