Supriya Sahu, an IAS officer, uploaded a moving video of three lovely elephant babies who were recently orphaned. The video shows the calves following their caretakers at the Theppakadu Elephant Camp in Tamil Nadu, demonstrating the unique link created between the animals and their mahouts.
"Elephant babies go for a morning walk with their loving Mahouts at Theppakadu Elephant Camp in Tamil Nadu," Sahu said in the caption that the group is caring for three calves that were recently abandoned or orphaned.

The calves are just 4-5 months old and are extremely fragile without their mother's milk, which is essential for immunity.
To safeguard the well-being of these baby elephants, the camp has allocated seven dedicated keepers who give 24-hour care, nurturing the calves as if they were their own children.
In addition, the Tamil Nadu government has formed a three-member expert committee to provide scientific direction to the local team and vets on how to properly care the newborn elephants.
This endeavour emphasizes the caretakers' dedication and compassion, as well as the Tamil Nadu government's combined efforts to safeguard and nurture orphaned wildlife.
The video and Sahu's message have touched many hearts, highlighting the significance of wildlife conservation and the great work being done at the Theppakadu Elephant Camp. "Excellent care and protection to the wildlife by a fully qualified team with veterinarians," a user wrote.
Another added, "Wow this is amazing ma'am, please include school children along with Mahouts, they need to get an education on Animals and it brings up weekly one govt school, either 7th or 8 standard let them take care, give food, take them for a walk, this will be a very good education."
